§ 8.12.080. Failure to subscribe.

    Residents or businesses shall subscribe with the contractors for collection and disposal services within seven days of the occupancy of the premises.

    B.

    If a contractor, upon notice from the city or from his or her own investigation, finds that any resident or business has failed to subscribe for collection and disposal services, the contractor shall serve written notice upon the resident or business. Such notice shall advise the resident or business of the requirements of this chapter and of the obligation to subscribe with the contractor for collection and disposal services. Service shall commence within ten days of the date of this notice unless the resident or business can demonstrate to the city manager's satisfaction that the residence or business is not occupied, or obtains an exemption as specified in Section 8.12.060(D).

    C.

    If the resident or business fails to pay for collection and disposal services, the contractor shall utilize the provisions contained in Section 8.12.090 to secure payment.
