§ 18.28.170. Utility distribution facilities.

  • Public utility transmission or distribution lines, wires or cables installed within and for the purpose of serving new subdivisions, including major, minor and deep lot subdivisions, shall be placed underground, except equipment appurtenant to underground facilities, such as surface mounted transformers, pedestal mounted terminal boxes and meter cabinets and concealed ducts. The subdivider shall be responsible for compliance with this requirement, shall make the necessary arrangements with the utility companies, and shall submit satisfactory evidence thereof prior to acceptance and approval of the final subdivision map, or when a final map is not required, prior to issuance of building permits.
